Enrichment Programs
Early Childhood / Daycare
We offer in-person & virtual presentations that align with NGSS, State Curriculum, and Environmental Literacy standards. Our instructors introduce natural science topics using live animals, engaging demonstrations, and biofacts.
We also have programs for younger participants that introduce animals and learning concepts. Echoes of Nature brings an academic field trip to your classroom, encouraging active student participation.
At this time, we cannot present in-person programs in DC. Please email to inquire about possible options.

Standard Session:
45 minutes / Maximum 45 participants
If needed, we do have 30 minute options or 20 minute sessions for many of the programs depending on your needs. Ask about details.
Lab Style programs:

Programs can be customized for your classes and adapted for after-school sessions. If a program topic is not listed or not under your grade, please contact us to see if a program can be designed or modified for your class. Extra-curricular activities are also available.

Are you planning a special topic of a country? Add in animal stories with a live animal guest(s). Some include: Japan/China, Africa, Australia, Native American and Star Stories.

Day & Night

Why do we have day and night? Which animals are diurnal and nocturnal? What are we? Activities–– and live animals will help us solve these questions
Fur and Scales
Doing a unit on mammals and reptiles? Why not have live guests come and show off some of their characteristics? Learn some neat natural history facts about each one.
A Walk In The Woods
What animal sounds can you make? Can you move like these animals? Meet some live animals and try out their sounds and movements.
As The Wheel Turns
Learning about lifecycles in class? Meet with some of our animal ambassadors and learn about their cycles. Help put the lifecycle wheels together for each ambassador.
Animal Textures & Colors
Explore animal textures and colors. Meet live animals and use your detective skills to identify if they are rough or smooth, and if they have stripes or spots.
Ugh! A bug! (or is it Ooh, Cool!)
Explore the world of bugs! Learn what makes a bug, whether it has 6, 8, or more legs, and use your detective skills to identify insects and arachnids.
How Seeds Travel
How do plant seeds get to different places? By water, wind and animal express. Let’s explore the different ways of travel and meet some guests thatwill help explain the wonders of seed travel.
Trees: A Year Round Home

Why are trees important? What benefits do they give people and animals? Explore a tree through the seasons and discover how it is a yearround home.
Life Cycle

Learn about different life cycle stages in this hands-on class.. Groups use models and pictures of. plants and animals to place in order. Which have incomplete or complete metamorphosis? Meet ambassadors to explore their life cycle.

Dinosaurs
Explore dinosaurs through hands-on stations with models, fossils, and pictures. Discover their adaptations, compare two-legged and four-legged dinos, and see how scientists use footprints to learn about movement. Meet our “rope dino” for size comparisons, walk like a dino, and meet some living fossils.
Earthworm Lab
Be a field researcher. Make hypothesis of how and why an earthworm will react to certain stimuli. Observe earthworms moving and take measurements. What are the benefits of having earthworms in your yard besides a decomposer?
Food Chain

Meet some living “links” in a food chain. Learn how each “link” depends upon the other surrounding animals and plants. “Build” a food chain and find out what happens if that food chain “breaks”?
Animals of Maryland
NGSS: K-ESS3-1
Meet some native live animals that can be found in Maryland. Learn basic differences between animal body coverings, pet versus wild and real versus pretend.
Journey Into Winter

Winter is here. Where are the animals? How do they survive the cold, foodless winters? Some migrated. Some are dozing. Some are true hibernators. Meet some animals and find out where they would be during winter.
